Inter have opened talks for a new winger, Moussa Diaby, reaching an agreement on personal terms and starting negotiations with Al-Ittihad. The two outfits are discussing an initial loan. The Nerazzurri have proposed a €35M option to buy. The speedster moved to the Middle East for €60M in 2024 and has notched 8 goals and 27 assists in 52 matches since. The 26-year-old blossomed in the Bundesliga in a four-season run with Bayer Leverkusen and then was sold to Aston Villa for €55M. He spent just one season in Birmingham before another pricey exit.

If Inter signed Diaby, it wouldn’t be his first sojourn in Italy. He had a cup of coffee with Crotone back in 2017/2018, fresh off PSG’s youth academy, making two Serie A appearances.

The Nerazzurri will knock again at PSV’s door for Ivan Perisic after their UEFA Champions League elimination. However, they aren’t sure they’ll get a positive offer. He’s a pure winger and would have to learn the position, but he’d surely be a more suitable signing for the present and the future than their former fixture. They might not be mutually exclusive, though. Cashing in on the Brazilian wing-back is a no-brainer at those numbers. Still, it’d be a daring double swoop mid-season while the starter is out, even though they can patch up the position if they really have to.
