Inter are willing to increase their offer for Italy full-back Marco Palestra as Atalanta hold firm on price. The push comes as Inter plan to replace Denzel Dumfries, whose release clause has been activated by Real Madrid.

Gazzetta reports that the Nerazzurri will soon table about €45m plus add-ons, after initially stopping at €40m plus bonuses amid concerns over ownership group Oaktree's stance.

Atalanta are understood to have moved from a €50m valuation to seeking roughly €53m-€55m. They are also reluctant to accept players plus cash, with Inter youngster Matteo Cocchi previously proposed.

Palestra, 21, caught the eye on loan at Cagliari in 2025-26 and in his first Italy appearances, despite the Azzurri failing to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

SportItalia claims Inter could instead target Juventus defender Andrea Cambiaso if negotiations for Palestra collapse. In that event, Inter would reportedly consider offering either Davide Frattesi or Carlos Augusto in a player-plus-cash package.
