Inter could tweak and rejuvenate their defense in January and have earmarked Tarik Muharemovic, should Stefan De Vrij force his way out. The veteran is unhappy with his minutes, and his entourage is shopping him around.
According to Mundo Deportivo (via Tribuna), he has landed on Barcelona’s radar because of Andreas Christensen and Ronald Araujo’s problems. The Blaugrana are monitoring a few veterans: Benfica’s Nicolas Otamendi, Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi, Union Berlin’s Diogo Leite, Betis’ Diego Llorente, Rayo Vallecano’s Luiz Felipe, and Villarreal’s Juan Foyth. The Dutchman is on an expiring contract and makes €3.8M annually.
Per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are very high on Muharemovic, but they’d move for him in January only if De Vrij or another center-back exited. He’ll remain on their list for the summer, when they’ll have to decide whether to keep Francesco Acerbi, too.
Sassuolo director Giovanni Carnevali recently told Sky (via Calciomercato) that their talent has attracted more than a few inquiries and that they won’t clip anybody’s wings if a top team comes calling.
On the other hand, the Nerazzurri also need to consider that Juventus will receive half of the fee, as he’s a youth product, so they’d indirectly help a rival on the transfer market if they purchase him, Alfredo Pedullà informs (via Tuttomercatoweb).
He’s solid and has a high upside, but he’s not been dominant to the point of considering him a surefire acquisition for a top side, also considering that he has primarily played in a four-man line. It’s more likely that they’ll stand pat in January, giving their veteran enough playing time to keep him happy.
