Inter U23 narrowly lose to Arzignano

Inter U23's positive run ends after two consecutive wins, as they narrowly lose at home to Arzignano. The Nerazzurri started reasonably well, creating a couple of chances through Zuberek and Spinaccè without seriously troubling the visiting goalkeeper. Midway through the first half, Arzignano grew into the game: Bernardi tested Melgrati, while Stante was forced to make an important block against Nanni. The Inter captain then produced a crucial intervention on the half-hour mark, clearing Lakti’s effort off the line after it had beaten Melgrati. The first half ended goalless with few clear chances.

The restart followed a similar pattern, with Inter struggling to create: Kaczmarski’s long-range effort over the bar was the only real attempt. The deadlock was broken just after the hour: Bernardi’s cross from the left flashed across the box and Cariolato arrived at the back post to finish from close range and make it 0-1. Inter pushed forward in search of an equaliser, with Zuberek heading just wide, while substitute La Gumina came close with a curling free-kick that grazed the post. In stoppage time, Inter had their best chance but were denied by the woodwork: Manfrin saved Berenbruch’s effort from distance and La Gumina’s follow-up crashed against the crossbar. It proved to be the final action of the match, and Arzignano claimed a 1-0 win. Inter remain in the playoff zone, but will need points in the final two games to secure their place mathematically.
