Interest in Nayef Aguerd grows as Marseille release clause revealed | OneFootball

Interest in Olympique de Marseille defender Nayef Aguerd (30) is growing, according to a report from Foot Mercato.

Marseille need to sell players this summer. Whilst the Ligue 1 club avoided a ban from European football, action must be taken in order to avoid a European ban the following season. UEFA confirmed the decision on Wednesday.

Aguerd, who had an injury-hit campaign at the Vélodrome, could be one of several players to leave OM. Foot Mercato have revealed that the Morocco international, who misses out on the FIFA World Cup after failing to recover from surgery in time for the tournament, has a €15m release clause in his contract.

Interest in the centre-back is now growing, the publication adds. There are several clubs in Europe and the Middle East who are showing concrete interest in the former West Ham United and Stade Rennais defender. Aguerd’s contract with OM runs until 2030.
