Ipswich Town have completed the signing of central defender Paige Peake on a two-year deal.

The Tractor Girls announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

The 22-year-old joins Ipswich Town after agreeing to a mutual termination of her contract at former club Southampton. Peake spent three seasons with The Saints in which she made 66 appearances for the club in all competitions. The player helped Southampton establish themselves in Barclays WSL2.

Peake is no stranger to Ipswich Town fans. The defender started out in the Suffolk club’s academy system before breaking into the first team. She was a member of Ipswich Town’s promotion-chasing sides before opting to move into the second tier with Southampton back in summer 2022.

After re-joining Ipswich Town, Peake said “It feels good to be back home again. The Club has changed so much in a very positive way and I’m delighted to be joining the journey.

“I was a part of Southampton’s first season in the second tier and hopefully that experience will be beneficial heading into the new campaign.

“There are a few familiar faces in the squad and I am so excited to be working with them and Joe [Sheehan] again. I can’t wait to get started here now.”

Peake is Ipswich Town’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
