In a few hours, we will have the opportunity to watch LAFC battle against Real Salt Lake, meaning the duel between Heung-Min Son and Diego Luna is as spicy as it can get.
Tonight, two of the Western Conference’s top teams go head-to-head, with both clubs sitting neck and neck in third and fourth place. This matchup promises to be one of the most compelling clashes of the season.
Firstly, because of the Black and Gold’s big win in the derby, El Tráfico, against the LA Galaxy. With a brilliant performance from Son, LAFC put the game away with a comfortable victory on the scoreboard.
However, it is always worth asking: will Son play tonight against RSL?
The truth is that one would assume that if the South Korean is healthy, he will always be in the starting lineup, next to Denis Bouanga.
However, it could be, as sometimes it happens, that the manager wants to try something new, like a new scheme, in which Son could have more impact in the second half.
Although that possibility is always there, nobody should expect any changes in the lineup. That’s the reality: Marc Dos Santos, LAFC head coach, is expected to put the same lineup as he did against the Galaxy.
This means that the former Tottenham Hotspur captain will be in the starting lineup, and as the main offensive figure, as the striker.
With an incredible first half, LAFC will try to maintain their typical domain of the ball on the field. Expecting Real Salt Lake to be in a defensive mode, rather than attacking them.
However, nothing can be taken for granted, because in this sport, a single ball into the back of the net can decide the night.
Because of that, the defenders will have to stay alert against Luna and the rest of the attacking trio.
