The World Cup is getting nice. Now, we are moments away from the encounter between Mexico and South Korea for Group A. After Lionel Messi’s hat-trick, this is one of the most exciting things about the group phase.
This clash will define who ends up as the leader of this group. This is because if both teams finish level on points after the final matchday, the winner of this game (if there is one) would claim first place due to FIFA's newly implemented tiebreaking format.
Also, many fans want to know whether or not Son Heung-Min will play tonight in South Korea’s decisive game against the host, Mexico.
South Korea's opening match against Czechia left a lot to be desired, particularly from LAFC star and team captain Son Heung-min.
Despite the tie, the Asian nation can still manage a first place if they beat the Mexicans tonight.
However, this task is not easy, and the Tri will put their best foot forward to finish as the winner. If South Korea wants to win, Son must be on the field, and not from the bench.
And that is what happened. Hong Myung-bo, South Korea’s coach, has released the starting lineups, and the LAFC star is playing as a striker.
The lineup South Korea will utilize tonight to try and dethrone Mexico is: Seung-Gyu Kim, Gi-hyuk Lee, Kim Min-jae, Han-beom Lee, Moon-hwan Kim, Seung-Ho Paik, In-beom Hwang, Young-woo Seol, Lee Jae-sung, Lee Kang-in, and Heung-min Son.
This matchup will take place at AKRON Stadium, meaning that Mexico is the host. Thus, South Korea will have an uphill battle against the players and the fans. One could imagine the Tri filling the stadium, and it will be mostly green shirts.
However, the Taegeuk Warriors have what it takes to defeat them. Nevertheless, Mexico’s weakness is the defensive sidelines, but when they get a chance, Giménez and Quiñones will make you pay for it.
