Leeds United are expected to part company with Isaac Schmidt this summer, with FC Basel and Young Boys interested in a permanent deal.
The 26-year-old joined from St Gallen in 2024 on a four-year contract for about £2.5m, made 14 appearances, 12 in the Championship, then spent 2025/26 on loan, and never started a league game under Daniel Farke.
At Werder Bremen he started six Bundesliga matches, came on 13 times, scored on debut but registered no further goals or assists as they stayed up by six points, and Bremen declined a permanent move.
Max Wober also spent last season at Bremen, but injuries limited the 28-year-old to two Bundesliga outings and the option was not taken. He is expected to leave Leeds this summer, though his situation may be more complicated.
“So far, relatively little [discussions on the future]. I'm pretty sure I won't be the most sought-after player at Leeds United anymore. That much is clear to me. We'll see how things develop.” He told DAB Der Audiobeweis.
“I'm assuming I'll return for pre-season training as normal.” “And then we'll see what happens next, what Leeds’ plan is, what's happening in the transfer market. Things can change drastically in football. So I'll just take it as it comes.”
Harry Gray’s move to Sheffield Wednesday is all but done and due to be confirmed in the next day or two, while Leeds continue to prioritise Southampton midfielder Shea Charles after two unsuccessful bids.
