Isak’s Farewell Note Exposed: Newcastle Defender Speaks on Dressing Room Response
Veteran defender Dan Burn's lifted the lid on what Alexander Isak posted in Newcastle United’s private WhatsApp group after sealing his record breaking 125 million sterling pound transfer to Liverpool on deadline day.
The Swedish striker forced the move by refusing to train with the first team before the season started insisting Newcastle'd broken promises & declaring the relationship was "beyond repair" His stance angered supporters at St James Park with some branding him disloyal.
Speaking to Liverpool Echo, Burn admitted that despite the controversy, the striker’s farewell message was heartfelt:
"Isak wrote in the group chat that he was leaving thanked us for the memories & wished us well. everyone responded with love"
The defender added:
"He’s one of the top 3 striker in the world right now. As Newcastle fan, of course I wanted him to stay but this's football. He got the move he wanted and the club got massive fee"
Burn believes the saga which lasted 55 day has oddly strengthened the squad’s unity:
"It actually brought us closer. Last season everything was so positive but this challenge has forced us to regroup"
