According to Americayya.net, Israel Reyes remains with Club América as the Apertura 2026 begins, despite strong European interest after the Clausura 2026.
AS Roma were the most prominent suitor, with reports at the time suggesting an offer had been made and that confirmation was only a matter of time.
Reyes has been registered with Liga MX for the new campaign and is expected to play on Sunday against Santos.
A departure from América is possible, but the proposals received so far have been insufficient. AS Roma showed interest with a bid of about 3 million dollars, far below the board’s valuation, which is at least double.
Although he impressed for América and featured at the World Cup, his status as a 26-year-old Mexican defender limits how much clubs are willing to pay.
The transfer window remains open and more offers are likely, so a long-term stay at América looks difficult. For now, he appears likely to play several more matches for the Águilas.
