RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose lamented his side's slow start against Heidenheim this afternoon. The 48-year-old was forced to make tactical tweaks which he felt brought his team back into the game.

"It was an unfortunate start for us - a second ball after a set piece and then the penalty situation, where we didn't move well in the chain.

"In general, we didn't put any pressure on the ball carrier in the early stages. After we had problems with another counterattack, it was time for me to revise the offensive formation and make adjustments.

"After the change, things went better, we scored the important goal before the break, which of course gave us courage.

"In the second half, we immediately built up pressure, created opportunities and equalized - but in the end we left the match with a disappointing draw because Heidenheim did well," he explained.

Ahead of Wednesday's DfB Pokal quarter-final clash, the German boss reaffirmed his faith in his players to raise their game.

"Even in the current difficult phase, I believe in the team and am now trying to find solutions against Wolfsburg to advance to the cup semi-finals," Rose concluded.
