The Foxes are unbeaten on home soil in five games, however, they come up against a Brighton & Hove Albion side that have impressed throughout this season.
Leicester City go into the match off the back of defeats to Manchester United and Chelsea but head coach Miquel has been pleased with how her side remained competitive in those games after falling behind
“The last two games have not been easy; we’ve played Manchester United who are in great form and Chelsea,” Miquel explained when speaking in a Leicester City press conference. “Even though we didn’t get any points, I did feel that we played well in the second half against Manchester United and the Chelsea game was even better than when we drew against them.
“What is important is the content and I am a strong believer that if the content is good, you will get a result. I don’t know when that will happen but at least if we come off the pitch knowing that we’ve done our best and we are happy with what we’ve done on the pitch, that’s the most important thing right now.”
Leicester City are set to meet Brighton & Hove Albion for the third time this season. The previous games have been tight and Miquel believes that a strong defensive performance will be key to potential success.
She said “I think it’ll be a game where both teams will create chances and will want to be good going forward. The first thing for us is that it will be important to defend well to give us the opportunity to preserve the score for as long as we can and open situations upfront for us to score. Being compact defensively will be important.”
While Leicester City will be aiming to continue their good home form, Miquel says that squad availability could be much-reduced.
She said “There are so many [injuries] that I can’t tell you for sure right now. We are at our highest level of injuries. Some might come back, some might play half of the game or be available for the next game, we will just see on Sunday.”
