Inter Milan could hand Davide Frattesi a rare start when they travel to face Cremonese this weekend.
Midfield absences have created an unexpected opening, and the Italian now looks ready to step in.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, Inter face an emergency in the centre of the pitch after the injury to Nicolo Barella.
With a packed schedule and fatigue following recent Champions League action, rotation is almost inevitable.
Frattesi may therefore complete the midfield alongside Piotr Zielinski and Henrikh Mkhitaryan on Sunday.

The Italy international has waited patiently for opportunities and could now benefit from the current situation.
Gazzetta note that he “was on the market for a long time after physical problems slowed him down, but now he can slip into an unexpected power vacuum in his preferred role, that of right-sided mezzala.”
Frattesi has played just 250 league minutes across 11 appearances this season. His only Serie A start came, coincidentally, in the reverse fixture against Cremonese at San Siro on October 4.
Meanwhile Andy Diouf’s recent improvement offers an extra solution from the bench.
