‘It’s a bit surreal’ – Semenyo on his incredible start at Man City | OneFootball

Antoine Semenyo says his first few months as a Manchester City player have felt “surreal” after winning his second trophy with the club despite only signing in January.

Semenyo scored the winning goal at Wembley to fire City to FA Cup glory, having already won the Carabao Cup earlier this season.

“It’s a bit surreal to be honest, everything has happened so fast,” he said after the FA Cup final win over Chelsea.

“But when you’re playing around top players, top coaches, they make it easier for you and I’m just grateful to be in this position.

“I can’t put it down to one thing but I think the collective, the team, have been amazing. They’ve made me feel so comfortable. Great characters, great coaches, and when you’re playing with top players you naturally adapt and they’ve made me better so far.

“When you come here, you’ve always got an opportunity of winning trophies. I’m grateful I’ve got two under my belt.”

Semenyo is now hoping to make it a hat-trick of trophies in his debut season by winning the Premier League.

“No celebrating tonight,” he said. “We’ll get back, recover tomorrow and prepare for Bournemouth on Tuesday.

“We just have to win our games, that’s the most important thing. If we do that, hopefully Burnley or Crystal Palace can do something for us but we just have to focus on ourselves and see what happens.”
