Aston Villa will make a late decision on Jadon Sancho before Sunday’s visit to Nottingham Forest, with Unai Emery delivering a measured team news update.
According to Nottingham Post, the winger missed the 3-1 win in Bologna after suffering a shoulder injury in a friendly against Elche during the March international break. He left the pitch with his arm in a sling and was initially expected to be out for around two to three weeks.
Emery said Sancho is improving and that the club will reassess him on Saturday, noting the issue is now into its second week.
He added that Alysson has started working with the group again and is progressing. Boubacar Kamara remains out, while the rest of the squad have been training as normal.
Emery also underlined the importance of rest and proper nutrition before Saturday’s session at four pm. He said how players arrive tomorrow will be key to who can perform at 100 per cent at the City Ground.
