James Morrison says he will probably remain off social media as he leads West Brom’s rebuild next season.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 40-year-old is preparing for his first campaign in management after steering the Baggies away from Championship relegation as interim boss.

He came off social media after taking charge in February to shut out outside noise and potential negativity, even though much of the feedback has been positive, and intends to keep that approach.

Morrison accepts the scale of the task after a 21st-place finish, the club’s lowest since 2000, and says hard work is needed to put the team on a stronger footing.

Albion hope to make early moves when the transfer window opens on Monday, with work to reduce losses since Bilkul’s 2024 takeover giving them greater financial room.

Clarity on his backroom staff is expected soon, with the club hopeful of retaining Matt Gill as assistant after he impressed when teaming up with Morrison in early March.
