Former Real Madrid standout James Rodríguez could seal a surprise move back to Spain with a view to next season.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have revealed alleged interest in the Colombian international on the part of Real Oviedo.
Fresh off securing promotion to La Liga, Oviedo are understood to be eyeing a splash on the transfer market.
And with as much in mind, the aforementioned James has been earmarked as a leading option.
The 33-year-old is currently plying his club trade in Mexico with León, after a somewhat disastrous short-term stint with Rayo Vallecano last season.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then his time in La Liga may not have come to a definitive end just yet.
As per a report from MD:
‘James has been playing an important role for Mexico’s León, but in recent hours, Oviedo have reportedly been interested in signing him.’
