Jamie Carragher says he is worried about Liverpool following Sunday’s disappointing 2-1 loss to Manchester United.
The Reds entered the Anfield clash as favourites, but they were stunned by Bryan Mbeumo’s goal inside two minutes.
Liverpool looked to have salvaged a draw when Cody Gakpo netted a late equaliser.
However, Harry Maguire popped up with the winner by heading Bruno Fernandes’ cross into the bottom-left corner.
Carragher said he is worried about the Merseyside giants’ current form.
The result leaves Liverpool fourth in the Premier League standings, four points adrift of Arsenal and one behind Manchester City.
The Reds spent heavily in the summer transfer window to sign Alexander Isak, Hugo Ektike, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong.
Their record-breaking summer had sparked big hopes for the new campaign, but the team’s performances have been disappointing.
They ground out results in early matches despite producing unconvincing displays, but they are now on a four-game losing streak.
Liverpool have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last four top-flight games.
Key forward Mohamed Salah looks to be a shadow of his former self, while Isak is yet to find his feet at Anfield following his £125 million summer move.
Manager Arne Slot must sort out these issues quickly if Liverpool are to compete for the league title this season.
