Jamie Carragher singled out Bryan Mbeumo as ‘the best signing in the Premier League’ before Manchester United’s clash with Everton.
It’s certainly a sentiment that the Old Trafford faithful will vouch for, as the Cameroonian has been one of the most impactful additions brought into the club in recent years.

Now that he’s settled and is adding to his goal contributions tally each week, it makes all that haggling over the summer with Brentford worthwhile – not to mention the fact that he had garnered interest from the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur but rejected them all in favour of the Reds.
Carragher’s praise came ahead of kick-off at the Hill Dickinson Stadium last night and, by full-time, Mbeumo had assisted the match-winner after he set up Benjamin Sesko for the only goal of the game in the 71st minute.
Since returning from the African Cup of Nations in mid-January, the 26-year-old has scored or assisted in five out of the six Premier League matches played – all of which were under Michael Carrick.
He is now on nine goals and three assists for the campaign thus far, and will be chomping at the bit to add more before the culmination of 2025/2026.
In doing so, Mbeumo will be doing his bit to ensure United secure Champions League qualification, meaning he would get to experience Europe’s best competition for the first time in his career.

Next up for Carrick’s revitalised Red Devils is a home encounter against Crystal Palace on Sunday afternoon, followed by a trip to St James’ Park to take on Newcastle United in a midweek outing on March 4.
Then, it’s in-form Aston Villa on March 15.
