Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag’s job is still under threat despite the Manchester United hierarchy meeting in London to discuss the Dutchman’s Old Trafford future.

Despite the speculation, Erik ten Hag is currently on holiday after the 0-0 draw to Unai Emery’s Aston Villa at Villa Park last weekend.

The former Ajax manager’s job is under threat after the hierarchy including Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Dan Ashworth met with other officials to discuss the current situation.

Even though it was a pre-planned meeting, the Dutchman’s future is expected to have been a priority after a poor start to the season with the Red Devils currently sitting 14th in the Premier League.

It remains to be seen what the outcome of the meeting will be and whether Ten Hag is still in charge of the Brentford fixture after the international break.

Despite a lack of clarity after the meeting, it is reported that Ten Hag’s job is still under major threat during the international break.

The Guardian’s Jamie Jackson previously expressed his verdict about how Sir Jim Ratcliffe feels about the current situation.

It has been relatively quiet after the meeting, with speculation still rife around the Dutchman’s future.

Writing for the Guardian, Jackson states: “No clarity has been offered regarding Erik ten Hag’s future at Manchester United following a summit meeting of the club’s hierarchy on Tuesday during which the Dutchman’s position as manager was discussed.

As a regular gathering of the committee, no communication would normally be issued afterwards unless a major decision had been taken. After the meeting’s conclusion, staff at the club had no indication that this had occurred.

“Yet the Ratcliffe-controlled football department, which is led by Ashworth, could still take the decision to remove Ten Hag in the coming days.”
