Jamie & Rebekah Vardy have spent time in Italy after leaving Leicester, with the pair revealing their next career step after L1 relegation confirmed..

Jamie Vardy left Leicester City following their relegation from the Premier League, with his former side now relegated to League One 10 years on from that historic title win in 2015/16.

Leicester City were deducted six points for breaching EFL financial rules, but they failed to win any of their last seven league games and sealed back-to-back relegations against Hull City last night.

Defeats to Portsmouth, Swansea City, and QPR came during a run which also included draws to Watford, Preston North End, and Sheffield Wednesday. It can't be argued that the games were there for them to achieve safety, either.

Luton Town, Sunderland, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Swindon Town have all suffered consecutive relegations from the top flight to the third tier, with Leicester joining that group with the unwanted record.

Given the sheer volume of Premier League and Championship experience in their squad, they were expected to be much more this season than they were. However, losing the likes of club icon Jamie Vardy certainly made things more difficult for Leicester.

Vardy has scored five goals in 25 Serie A games for struggling Cremonense at the age of 39, with his career soon coming to an end. Many perhaps thought that would be at the King Power Stadium or with his boyhood club, Sheffield Wednesday.

The striker's rise to Leicester is one of football’s most remarkable journeys. Starting in non-league with Stocksbridge Park Steels after his release from Wednesday in his youth career, he eventually earned a move to Halifax Town.

That was before truly exploding at Fleetwood Town. His goals fired Fleetwood into the Football League for the first time but he jumped up to the Championship with Leicester. During his career with the Foxes, Vardy scored 200 goals in 500 games and became a club legend.

He is at an age where he has to start considering his next steps after football and perhaps has already began to do so. According to the Manchester Evening News, he and his partner Rebekah are set to open up their lives to the cameras for the first time as ITV and ITVX reveal their own reality series.

It is called The Vardys. It's reported that the show will offer an exclusive insight behind the scenes into the lives of one of the football and the showbiz worlds’ most famous families as they face their biggest challenge yet — leaving Leicester after 13 years for life abroad.

The series is set to be available to stream later this year on ITVX and broadcast on ITV1. It will begin with his final emotional match for Leicester, punctuated by his 200th goal, as well as showing how the story is really unfolding off the pitch, with family matriarch Rebekah juggling things behind the scenes.

Relegation to League One is catastrophic for Leicester given the financial damage it could do long-term but also due to the scale of their recent history with the likes of Vardy.

From the miracle of the 2015/16 Premier League season, to lifting the FA Cup in 2021, to going deep into Europe in numerous campaigns, they established themselves as the modern success story. That regular European football, including a run to the Europa Conference League semi-finals, reinforced that they were one of the clubs disrupting the 'Big Six' most regularly.

At the heart of it all was Vardy, with no one else going on the journey from promotion in 2014 and remaining all the way through until another in 2024. His goals also defined the era — none more iconic than his record-breaking scoring streak in 2015/16 on their way to the title.

Dropping into the third tier represents the most brutal of collapses from elite overachievers. Now, you could argue that they are a club stripped of identity, plenty of revenue, but also prestige. It undoes some of nearly a decade of remarkable progress.
