Andrée Jeglertz says City can be proud of our performance against Chelsea, despite bowing out of the League Cup semi-finals.

The Blues were beaten 1-0 at the Joie Stadium despite dominating large spells of the contest, hitting the post twice and forcing several fine saves from Chelsea stopper Hannah Hampton.

It brings our 16-match unbeaten run to an end, but our Head Coach couldn’t fault the majority of his team’s performance across the 90 minutes.

Indeed, he expects City to bounce back quickly from a disappointing night.

He said: “First of all, I’m disappointed because we’ve lost the possibility for a title which is important for me , the players and the Club, but I’m proud of the performance.

“I think the players worked very hard and were doing so many good things, we just didn’t do the small details of scoring and then conceding one.

“That’s how it is in these games, it’s disappointing but also, looking at the perspective of what we can use for the next game, there’s so many things we can be proud of.”

It’s a tight turnaround for City, with a trip to Bromley to take on London City Lionesses on the horizon this Sunday at 11:55 (UK).

Jeglertz is confident his players will arrive for training tomorrow ready to attack the game, though, despite ultimately coming up short tonight.

“I think the players will be disappointed tonight but tomorrow prepare for the next game with so many things to take,” he added.

“There’ll be no problem to focus on the next one.

“I’m convinced that pretty soon we’ll get back to be ready for the next game.”
