Jhon Arias back as Palmeiras await further call-ups for Grêmio test | OneFootball

Palmeiras continued preparations for the return of the Campeonato Brasileiro on Tuesday, with Grêmio visiting on Thursday in round nine at Arena Crefisa Barueri.

According to Nosso Palestra, the squad worked through tactical drills covering build-up play, marking, team shifts, pressing mechanisms and patterns of play.

Jhon Arias, back from friendlies against France and Colombia, was the notable inclusion at training at the club's Football Academy.

The other internationals, Gustavo Gómez, Sosa, Mauricio, Emiliano Martínez, Flaco López and Giay, are following national-team return schedules and are expected by Wednesday night.

Forwards Paulinho and Figueiredo trained with academy youngsters, while fellow forward Vitor Roque followed an individual programme at the centre of excellence with the health and performance unit.

Given recent travel and the tight turnaround, the six remaining call-ups will be re-evaluated by the club's health and performance staff and remain doubtful for the Grêmio match.
