Jhon Solis joined Birmingham City on loan in the January transfer window
Jhon Solis made the temporary switch to Birmingham City during the January transfer window.
The Blues are seeking promotion to the Premier League this season, and made a number of ambitious moves in the winter market in order to boost their top six hopes.
However, Chris Davies’ side have hit a poor run of form, losing each of their last three league fixtures, leaving them eight points adrift of the play-off places.
The Midlands outfit gained promotion to the Championship in the previous campaign, earning a record-breaking 111 points to clinch the League One title.
But the club are hoping to make it a short stay in the second tier, with their sights set on top flight football at St. Andrew’s.
Solis has made eight appearances in the league since joining from Girona in January, starting on six occasions, with the team earning 14 points from those fixtures.

Solis has explained that Birmingham’s ambitions were a key factor in his decision to turn down other offers and join the club during the winter market.
The midfielder claimed that his inconsistent game time with Girona was also a contributing reason for why he moved from Spain to England mid-season.
"I came to Birmingham because it's an ambitious club with a sporting project to move forward,” said Solis, via ESPN.
“Football shapes you a bit; you have four positive weeks and then maybe the fifth is negative, that's how this sport is.
“At Girona, I was alternating, but it was difficult to start as a starter, so, thinking that I am young, I wanted to get minutes and evolve on the pitch, which is the most important thing.
“Other clubs were interested, but they convinced me and the Championship is at a very good level.
“Doing the loan here seems very positive to me."
Solis has kept the door open for a permanent move to Birmingham at the end of the season, although he refused to commit his future either way to the club or to Girona, with the Blues holding an option to buy clause as part of their loan agreement.
“There's a chance I'll stay, it's a loan with an option to buy,” he added.
“So far, I've felt very good.
“The team went eight games without losing, now we've lost three, but that's football.
“There's a chance I'll stay, but also a chance I'll return.
“I'm trying to take advantage of the momentum and my current situation, which is good, and continue to open doors in the world of football.
“I'm willing to go wherever is best, but right now I'm here and I'm giving my all for Birmingham."
Solis made his debut for Davies’ side as a substitute in a 2-0 victory over Sheffield Wednesday on 20 January.
The midfielder came off the bench again in their 1-1 draw against Stoke city a few days later, and he has since established himself as a starter in the team.
But Birmingham’s promotion hopes have taken a huge dent with recent defeats to Millwall, Charlton Athletic and Middlesbrough, with Solis not featuring in the 3-1 defeat to Kim Hellberg’s side.
The gap to Wrexham in sixth place is now eight points, but a defeat for the Red Dragons on Tuesday night has opened the door for the club to close that gap this evening.
The Midlands outfit return to action against QPR at St. Andrew’s in a 7.45pm kick-off, where they could go within five points of the play-offs.

While Birmingham have gone on a poor run in the last couple of weeks, the arrival of Solis in the team did lead to an upswing in performances.
The defensive midfielder has been a positive addition to the squad, and a permanent move in the summer would be a good bit of business for the club.
Davies’ side are still in promotion contention, but they can’t afford too many more slip ups between now and the end of the campaign.
Solis is one of the players that will be expected to turn up and contribute positively in the final weeks of the season, and that could be what seals a permanent move to St. Andrew’s.
