After nearly five years out of work, former Germany coach Joachim Löw remains open to a return to coaching – if the right offer comes along.
In an interview with Die Zeit, the World Cup-winning coach made it clear that he has no intention of taking a job in the Bundesliga, but that a move abroad appeals to him.
“I have ruled out a coaching job in the Bundesliga, and that hasn’t changed. That doesn’t mean I don’t have ideas about how to improve club teams. But I don’t find much appeal in being involved in Bundesliga matches weekend after weekend. However, leading a team with international ambitions to the top of European football over time – that’s something I could imagine,” Löw said.
“Football is my great passion – that will never change. I’ve always said that if something comes along that truly excites me, I could see myself doing it again," the former Germany coach added.
At the same time, the 66-year-old underlined that he would also be at peace if the right opportunity never arises.
“That would be completely fine for me. I’m happy with my life,” he said.
