FC Barcelona are fully aware of their own limitations and possibilities in terms of their financial prowess. Fortunately, they are also aware of what they can do to better enable themselves as well. This particular summer transfer window is a good test of that, and Barcelona are dealing with it accordingly.
However, in order to facilitate transfers that they would ideally like to make, certain sacrifices are needed as well. Moreover, considering Barça’s improving financial situation right now, the club has to be careful and methodical in terms of the players they bring in and those that they let go of.
For instance, Noah Darvich’s situation showcases the club’s decision-making process regarding exits in recent weeks, and that was just the tip of the iceberg. Now, the focus has also shifted towards the potential departure of Barcelona forward Ansu Fati, who is in talks to move to AS Monaco on a loan deal.
As was previously reported, the finer details of the deal have been revealed recently as well. It will likely include an option to buy for Monaco at the end of the loan spell, but Barcelona will also be attaching a buy-back clause to ensure some future-proofing for themselves as well.

Moreover, as highlighted by Fabrizio Romano, even Barcelona president Joan Laporta recently addressed the operation and provided an update when asked about it:
“If everything goes well this week, we could have very good news for Ansu Fati, he’s set to join AS Monaco.”
This is now official confirmation from the president, who has essentially confirmed that talks with Monaco are ongoing and that it is the most likely destination for the 22-year-old Spaniard. Unfortunately, however, it also spells the end of Fati’s time at Barcelona.
While there is no telling what ends up happening in the future, this might just be Fati’s last chance for redemption. Once hailed as a future world star, the Spaniard has instead fallen victim to various injuries that have plagued his career over the last couple of years.
Still, perhaps a chance with Monaco over in Ligue 1 could help him regain his best version again. After all, there is no denying the talent of the young Barcelona forward, but he really needs to get his confidence and explosiveness back if he wants to ever succeed at the Catalan club again.
