Joe Gelhardt suffers calf injury, Leeds United loanee set for spell out at Hull City | OneFootball

Leeds United loanee Joe Gelhardt faces around six weeks out with a calf injury, a blow to in-form Hull City and manager Sergej Jakirovic.

According to Leeds Live, he suffered the problem in the second half against Middlesbrough last Friday and was substituted. He had just scored his eighth goal in 10 matches to take his season tally to 10.

The forward missed Wednesday night’s match against Wrexham at the MKM Stadium and is not expected back until early in the New Year, meaning he will sit out the Christmas schedule.

The setback all but rules out a potential Leeds recall, although the clause was not set to be activated, with the Whites anticipating he would see out the season at Hull.

Gelhardt, 23, spent the second half of last season on loan at the Championship outfit and has 18 months remaining on his Leeds contract.
