Joe Gelhardt is set for talks with Daniel Farke and Leeds United’s sporting department over his future after a standout loan that helped Hull clinch promotion to the Premier League.
According to Alan Nixon, Leeds and Gelhardt will hold a sit-down to decide next steps, with Hull keen to bring him back and prepared to match his Elland Road wages.
Gelhardt joined Hull in the second half of 2024-25, then returned for 2025-26 on loan. By season’s end he was integral, finishing with 15 goals and four assists in a campaign that delivered promotion.
After promotion, an emotional Gelhardt indicated where he wants his future, emphasising his affection for Hull and his excitement at a 12 month turnaround from embargo-hit underdogs to a Premier League club.
With one year left on his Leeds contract, this summer is the natural decision point. If Farke sees a Premier League role for him, reintegration follows, but after 18 months on loan an exit is likely. Reports have suggested a £3m fee.
