The Rams have been busy over the summer with both incomings and outgoings, welcoming 10 new faces to the club.

Patrick Agyemang, Rhian Brewster, Andi Weimann, Danny Batth, Richard O’Donnell and Carlton Morris have all linked up at Pride Park on permanent deals, while David Ozoh, Owen Beck, Dion Sanderson and Bobby Clark have joined on loan deals until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, at the exit door, Derby have sanctioned many departures, with the likes of Tyrese Fornah, Nathaniel Méndez-Laing, Tom Barkhuizen, Sonny Bradley, Conor Washington, Kemar Roofe, Erik Pieters, Jeff Hendrick and Rohan Luthra all waving goodbye to the East Midlands outfit.

After helping guide Derby to Championship safety last year despite periods of uncertainty, Eustace will be hoping he can guide his side to the upper ends of the Championship table, with the club recruiting a mix of youth talent and figures with second-tier experience.

Eustace has a previous pedigree of getting his teams to compete in and around the play-off places, achieving this with Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers before his departure from those two outfits and something similar could be brewing at Pride Park.

Meanwhile, in his pre-match press conference ahead of their opening weekend clash at Stoke City, Eustace was asked and responded to what Derby’s plans were for the remainder of the summer transfer window.

As tweeted on X by ITV journalist Dan Salisbury-Jones, Derby County boss John Eustace admitted that he wouldn’t be opposed to another one or two signings coming through the door, but did admit his side had managed to replace their lenghty list of outgoing players.

Eustace said: “Listen, we'd love to bring one or two more in, of course we would, but we have to remember we had 12 outs, as well, so it's not like we were creating a huge squad here.

“We’ve moved players on, players have been out of contract, and now we bring in good players to replace them and to help the remaining group.”

Derby County have had an impressive summer transfer window

As the clock ticks down on the remainder of the summer transfer window, Derby County acted early to bring a number of quality additions in, giving them the best possible chance of a positive start to the season.

The likes of Andi Weimann, Danny Batth and Carlton Morris add heaps of second-tier experience to the playing squad, while punts on Rhian Brewster, Bobby Clark and Patrick Agyemang could pay off, leading to the club having a good blend of youth and experience.

It will be intriguing to see if Derby can start the season in emphatic fashion, with expectations high that they can do much better than battling for Championship survival as they did last campaign.
