Jonathan Tah appointed on Bayern Munich’s team council | OneFootball

Florian Plettenberg reports that new Bayern Munich signing Jonathan Tah has been added to the team council, joining fellow seasoned professionals Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich and Harry Kane.

Tah has impressed since arriving on a free transfer from Bayer Leverkusen in June. He is already viewed as a defensive leader and a key figure in Vincent Kompany’s relatively small squad – a point Kane himself acknowledged after Saturday’s DFL Franz Beckenbauer Supercup triumph over Stuttgart.

The 29-year-old started alongside Dayot Upamecano at the heart of Bayern’s defence and with the help of a peerless Neuer, the pair managed to hold Stuttgart at bay until it was too little and too late for die Schwaben to mount a comeback.

With Tah and Upamecano – the latter of which has firmly established himself as a starter over the past year – Bayern boast a typically solid yet refreshed back line as they look to defend the Bundesliga title they reclaimed in May, snatched back from Tah’s former club Leverkusen.
