Jorge Jesus visits Rio, meets Marcos Braz and greets Flamengo fans | OneFootball

Jorge Jesus has returned to Rio de Janeiro, meeting former Flamengo executive Marcos Braz and addressing supporters during his visit, according to Coluna Do Fla.

He was seen in a Maracanã box on Saturday as Flamengo beat Coritiba. The Portuguese took the chance to observe the work of his friend Leonardo Jardim, whom he recommended in 2020.

In a video posted on a Rio de Janeiro federal deputy’s social media, Jesus said he was with Braz to catch up and sent warm regards.

Jesus remains a favourite among many Flamengo fans, some of whom would like him back as coach. His stint at the club brought more titles than defeats, and he is in the city to visit friends made at Flamengo, among them Braz, who served as vice-president from 2009 to 2010 and from 2019 to 2024.

Under Jardim, Flamengo now pause for the World Cup. Their next outings are set to be unofficial, with three friendlies scheduled in Jesus’s homeland in July.
