Jorginho a doubt for Flamengo at Cusco in Libertadores after tests | OneFootball

Flamengo may be without Jorginho for their Copa Libertadores opener against Cusco in Peru on Wednesday.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the midfielder has muscle pain, underwent tests on Monday and is awaiting the results.

If he is ruled out, Flamengo would field a reserve midfield pairing, with Erick Pulgar already sidelined by an acromioclavicular injury to his right shoulder. Evertton Araújo is favourite to start.

The long journey could also count against Jorginho, with nearly 4,000 kilometres from Rio de Janeiro to Cusco. The match will be played at Estádio Garcilaso de la Vega, 3,400 metres above sea level.

Kick-off is 21:30 Brasília time on Wednesday. Globo will show the game on free-to-air television in much of Brazil, with Paramount Plus streaming it.
