Jorginho a doubt for Flamengo’s Recopa after muscle injury | OneFootball

Flamengo have suffered another early-season setback, with Jorginho sidelined by a left thigh muscle injury. He will miss the meeting with Sampaio Corrêa and could also be absent for the Recopa Sudamericana against Lanús (ARG) on 19 and 26 February.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the injury is of medium severity and would require at least three weeks of recovery. On that timeline, the midfielder would only be back in early March, after the Recopa.

Jorginho felt the issue during the Supercopa do Brasil against Corinthians. He was substituted 36 minutes into the second half, with De La Cruz coming on.

He then missed Wednesday’s game against Internacional due to suspension.

Without him, Flamengo host Sampaio Corrêa at the Maracanã, kick-off 21:00 Brasília time, with a place in the Campeonato Carioca quarter-finals on the line.
