José Mourinho keen on Schlotterbeck as Real Madrid eye left-footed centre-back

Real Madrid’s new coach José Mourinho is an admirer of Borussia Dortmund’s Schlotterbeck, with the German international and Felix Nmecha on a summer shortlist ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. Mourinho has already gathered information on both players.

Sky Germany reports that Madrid have joined the race for Nmecha.

Mourinho wants to add a left-footed centre-back, and Schlotterbeck and Arsenal’s Riccardo Calafiori are among the options being monitored.

The 26-year-old Schlotterbeck could leave Dortmund for €50-60 million due to a contractual release clause.

Madrid also plan to strengthen midfield and attack this summer, with Nmecha considered a potential target. The 25-year-old made more than 42 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
