Former Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho is expressing a renewed interest in the signature of Blancos starlet Arda Güler.

That’s according to Diario AS, who have on Wednesday provided an insight into the situation.

Midfielder Güler, for his part, is of course in the midst of something of a hit-and-miss opening to the new campaign in Spain’s capital.

Though he has enjoyed an uptick in game-time compared to his debut campaign, the 19-year-old still appears to be some way down the pecking order when it comes to the first-choice options of manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Murmurs, in turn, have spread of late that Güler could seek out a mid-season exit, in a bid to secure a more prominent role elsewhere.

And one outfit who would be eager to take advantage of as much, as alluded to above, are Fenerbahçe.

As per a report from Diario AS:

‘The Turkish club’s management are planning to contact Real Madrid to assess the possibility of a loan move in the second half of the season . If Los Blancos give the green light, Fenerbahce could act quickly to secure the player.’

Any such move would come at the direct request of José Mourinho, who has never been shy in making clear his admiration for Güler’s talents.

The player, for his part, would see former club Fener as an ‘attractive destination’.
