As reported to Sky Germany, Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich will miss the restart of the Bundesliga.
The German international has yet to return to team training with Bayern as they undergo their winter training camp ahead of the rückrunde (second half of the season).
The reason for Kimmich’s absence is an ongoing ankle injury that has been recurring throughout the season. Kimmich also missed the last game of 2025 against FC Heidenheim for the same reasons.
For this reason, the defensive midfielder is going through personal treatment and taking part in an “individual rehabilitation program.”
Elsewhere, Manuel Neuer is currently recovering from a muscle tear. The veteran goalkeeper trained for 45 minutes on Saturday with the club’s goalkeeper coach.
Bayern are playing one training match against RB Salzburg on Tuesday ahead of their return to the Bundesliga on Sunday 11th January.
