England midfielder Jude Bellingham will not be suspended for Saturday’s EURO 2024 quarter-final tie with Switzerland but has been punished for a controversial gesture he made after scoring against Slovakia in the last round.
Bellingham scored a stunning 95th-minute equaliser to take the tie to extra-time, and was seen grabbing his crotch in the direction of the Slovakia bench after celebrating the goal.
The matter was investigated by UEFA and there were suggestions the Real Madrid man could be suspended, but he will instead have to pay a €30,000 fine and has been handed a suspended one-match ban for “violating the basic rules of decent conduct”.

The 21-year-old will therefore be free to face Switzerland, but will have to be on his best behaviour. His suspended ban is valid for one year.
