Jude Bellingham’s emotional message after England’s World Cup elimination: ‘We can achieve big things’ | OneFootball

It was not meant to be for the Real Madrid stars at the FIFA World Cup, as both of the team’s active superstars were eliminated in the semifinal stage of the competition earlier this week.

Kylian Mbappe’s France fell short against Spain in a game where they were thoroughly outplayed and dominated. The 2-0 scoreline, which eventually reflected was kind on them.

Jude Bellingham’s England, meanwhile, bottled the game against Lionel Messi’s relentless Argentina as they mounted a comeback to turn around a 0-1 deficit. Both players will now compete for third place.

Bellingham’s message to fans

Taking to his Instagram after his team’s devastating elimination from the World Cup, Real Madrid star and England’s top performer Jude Bellingham appreciated the support from fans and love from his country.

“Thank you for the unbelievable support from back home and to those who spent their hard-earned money to travel to America and get behind us.”

He then vowed that the team would do better going forward and called for fans to maintain the same passion for every competition that is yet to come, guaranteeing them that success is not far off.

“Don’t let the unity and love we’ve seen in our country end with this campaign. When we’re together we can achieve big things. And we will! Love you!”

A campaign to remember

Up until England’s shocking elimination to Argentina in the semifinal earlier this week, Jude Bellingham was a strong contender for the player of the tournament and has enjoyed a stunning campaign at the premier competition.

In seven games for England in the competition, the player racked up six goals and one assist and stepped up in almost all important moments for his side.

It was his brace that propelled the side past Mexico at the Azteca, and again his brace in the next round that sent his team to the semifinals with a win over Norway.

The Three Lions will now fight for third place against Kylian Mbappe’s France this weekend, following which the player will head for vacation.

Needless to say, he will have a massively important campaign under Jose Mourinho after his return.
