Just in: Real Madrid request Barcelona’s audits and invoices from 2010 to 2018

As has been reported previously, the period of understanding between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona is now part of history.

This is being clearly reflected in the proceedings taking place at the Barcelona courts, where everything related to the Negreira case is currently under investigation.

Last week, the lawyer from Real Madrid posed several questions to Barça president Joan Laporta during his testimony in court. Now, it appears that the Spanish capital club have taken a step further.

Real Madrid request to look into Barcelona’s accounts and invoices

Indeed, as reported by AS, Real Madrid have formally requested access to documents and records relating to the payments made by Barcelona to the former vice-president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA).

As made public by Xabier Estrada, Real Madrid have requested the following information:

The internal audits carried out at FC Barcelona between 2010 and 2018, in which the payments made to the entities Dasnil 95, S.L., Nilsad, S.C.P., Soccercam, S.L., Best Norton, S.L., Tresep 2014, S.L. and Radamanto, S.L. are identified, analysed and validated, including the identification of the authors of those documents and the recipients within the structure of FC Barcelona.
The annual accounts and the corresponding independent external audit reports relating to those accounts, as prepared and approved by FC Barcelona between 2010 and 2018.
The minutes of the meetings of the club’s Tax Governance Committee, in which, from a tax perspective, the payments made to Dasnil 95, S.L., Nilsad, S.C.P., Soccercam, S.L., Best Norton, S.L., Tresep 2014, S.L. and Radamanto, S.L. were analysed.
A request that Camps Legal Advisors, S.L.P. be required, through the Judicial Police Section of the Seventh Zone of the Guardia Civil, to provide for inclusion in the proceedings all communications and extrajudicial or judicial claims sent to FC Barcelona on behalf of Dasnil 95, S.L. and or Mr José María Enríquez Negreira.

In addition to this, Ramon Alvarez reports that Real Madrid have also requested the court to include a statement made by Laporta in 2009 in the investigation, where the Barça president had said:

“Real Madrid signing a former referee? I’m sure they know what they’re doing, but for us, we respect the refereeing institution and structure, they do their job well, we won’t be making any signing like that, and we don’t know that market anyway.”

Real Madrid argue that these quotes contradict Laporta’s claims that the reason they were paying Negreira was for “very useful refereeing reports.”

This comes on the back of constant attacks from Real Madrid president Florentino Perez on Barcelona with regard to the Negreira case, after the Catalans distanced themselves from the Super League project and reconciled with UEFA and the ECA.

It remains to be seen how Barcelona respond to this latest act from their bitter rivals.
