Justin de Haas is closing out his Famalicão spell with the same reliability and commitment that persuaded Valencia to sign him. According to Superdeporte, the 26-year-old will join on a free from 1 July on a contract to 30 June 2030.
He starred in the 1-2 win at Vitória de Guimarães, heading the opener on 17 minutes for his fourth of the season, then made the league’s team of the week, an accolade he highlighted on social media.
Famalicão own the fourth-best defence, 22 conceded in 26, with only Porto, Sporting and Benfica better on 10, 14 and 17. Among regulars, De Haas ranks as the league’s leading centre-back by statistical rating, sixth overall behind defenders from those three clubs.
Since his future was settled he has remained decisive, the division’s most prolific centre-back with four goals worth 10 points, a tally matched only by Zé Vítor. His strikes came in 1-1 draws with Aves and at Arouca, February’s 3-1 comeback against Aves, and in Guimarães.
Availability has been near total, just one league game missed through suspension in 2026 and nine 90-minute outings in 10 under Hugo Oliveira.
After 26 rounds he leads Famalicão for pass accuracy on 89 percent and clearances on 5.5 per match, and averages four successful long balls per game. He is up to 2,250 minutes, closing on his Portugal best of 2,556 from 2024/25.
