Brothers Khephren and Marcus Thuram were at the epicentre of yesterday’s Derby d’Italia, which saw Inter Milan lose 4-3 to Juventus in Turin.

Both brothers scored for their teams, with just six minutes between their goals.

Inter forward Marcus Thuram scored the goal to put Inter 3-2 up against the Bianconeri in the 76th minute.

However, his brother equalised for Juventus in the 82nd minute.

Youngster Vasilije Adzic scored the winner for the Old Lady with a spectacular long-range effort in stoppage time.

The Gazzetta dello Sport speculated after the match about Thuram’s goal.

The Nerazzurri forward hardly celebrated his goal that put his team in the lead.

The reason for this? “Juve is his father’s team,” Gazzetta write, via FcInter1908.

“And against the team his Dad supports, you can score without going overboard right after.”

“It is whispered that he had spoken about it with friends before the big clash,” the paper continued.

“The wildest moment is thus captured in the snapshot, with the hand at the temple and the usual, familiar gesture.”

Therefore, Thuram’s refusal to go overboard may anger some Inter fans.

However, it is likely born out of respect for his family than anything more sinister.
