Juventus Keen on Real Madrid and West Ham Backups

Juventus will try to address a few needs with cost-effective signings in January, and the latest names to fall on their radar are West Ham’s Guido Rodriguez and Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Garcia. The former would add depth to their midfield, while the latter would serve as Kenan Yildiz’s deputy, Sky reports.

The Bianconeri are in the hunt for a savvy ball handler but are unlikely to spend big during the winter. Their desire to try to bring Sandro Tonali back to Italy hasn’t waned, but it’ll be a matter for the summer, given the massive costs of the operation.

The Argentinian veteran has fallen out of favor in London this campaign, playing just five times. He had appeared in 23 games last year. After a lengthy run in Mexico, especially at Club America, he had success at Real Betis, notching 9 goals and 4 assists in 173 games over the span of 5 seasons.

Juventus will test the waters about onboarding Guido Rodriguez, who had joined West Ham for free, while, if they went for Gonzalo Garcia, the deal could replicate what Como and Real Madrid arranged for Nico Paz. Les Merengues would retain a future buy-back clause.

The 21-year-old shone during the FIFA Club World Cup, scoring four times during the competition. Instead, he has started in just 3 of his 17 showings afterward, failing to hit the net.

Our Take on Juventus, Guido Rodriguez, and Gonzalo Garcia

They’ll have to get creative to land players who could really help them, considering their meager budget, but they are searching in the right roles. It’s shaping up to be a chance for their new front office to prove its worth.
