Juventus are turning their attention toward some left-footed defenders to restore their backline and have earmarked Benoit Badiashile and Arthur Theate, who could be gettable in January, although they wouldn’t be cheap, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The 23-year-old has been healthier than in past seasons so far. However, he has featured almost exclusively in the cups with Enzo Maresca at the helm. He’s never been a linchpin at Chelsea following a €38M move from Monaco. He has two caps with France but was last called up in 2022.

Badiashile is under contract with the Blues until 2030, and Juventus would have to convince Chelsea to let him go on loan, while Theate joined Eintracht Frankfurt with such a formula last August following a collapsed move to Saudi Arabia.

He has been a regular, as he has racked up 13 appearances so far. The Bianconeri would need to negotiate with two sides in this case. He spent a year at Bologna, prior to Thiago Motta’s time there, before transferring to Ligue 1.

A few Serie A sides inquired about the former over the years, but his wages are mammoth, so the Old Lady would need a lot of help to be successful. The Belgian might be less talented but would be a better fit because of his versatility and previous Serie A experience. While Rennes might be open for business if they received a worthy offer, Eintracht Frankfurt have an option to buy and could easily obstruct his departure.
