Juventus make contact for West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd | OneFootball

Juventus have initiated contact with West Ham United over the potential signing of defender Nayef Aguerd this summer (h/t journalist Gianluca Di Marzio).

The Bianconeri are looking to sign a top-class central defender as part of their summer overhaul.

The Italian giants are exploring a swap deal with the Hammers, who are admirers of Italian defender Daniele Rugani.

Rugani has just returned from his loan spell at Ajax and is not part of Juve’s plans. His contract expires next summer.

Having made Pierre Kalulu’s transfer permanent from AC Milan, Juve have now set their sights on Aguerd.

The Moroccan defender sealed a highly anticipated move to West Ham following his stellar performances at the 2022 World Cup, but he has struggled to make an impact.

However, he found his feet with Real Sociedad on loan last season, featuring in 36 games in all competitions.

The La Liga outfit want to keep him permanently, but his impressive form has also caught the attention of other clubs.

West Ham are looking to raise funds for new signings by cashing in on Aguerd, whose current deal expires in 2027. They value him at around £20 million.

Juventus will face competition for the Moroccan’s signing, with Marseille and Bayer Leverkusen keeping tabs on him.

The Old Lady have been credited with an interest in Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo, who is also on the wishlist of several other Italian clubs.

The Turin-based club are working towards tying Italian defender Federico Gatti to a new long-term deal to stave off interest from Napoli.

They also have exciting talents such as Nicolo Savona and Lloyd Kelly in their defence. Kelly recently completed his permanent switch to Turin from Newcastle United.
