After Alessandro Bastoni, Barcelona have laid eyes on another well-known Serie A player, Andrea Cambiaso, who has made their early target list. The fullback was pursued by Manchester City in the past, but the deal didn’t come to fruition about a year ago, Sportitalia informs.

The fullback is under contract until 2029. Juventus don’t consider him among their expendable players, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays. Still, the situation is fluid. A mammoth offer could convince them to at least entertain the notion.

Luciano Spalletti, who’s expected to re-up in short order, wishes for Cambiaso to be one of the linchpins for the future, so Barcelona would have to be very persuasive to start the conversation. The defender wouldn’t be indifferent to the potential Blaugrana courtship.

The Bianconeri value their star over €50M and would be open to including some makeweights. The 26-year-old was signed for €15M from Genoa in 2022 and has been part of the squad since the 2023/2024 season after a loan at Bologna. He has accumulated 124 appearances in Turin, scoring 8 goals and providing 16 assists. He has 19 caps with Italy to his name.

He’s been better in recent months, minus the occasional lapse, but still quite far from his peak performances under Massimiliano Allegri and Thiago Motta. It’s been a while since he’s been a true difference-maker, so the price tag is rather optimistic. Even though they’d have to sign two left-backs afterward, they’d settle for a lot less if he asked out. The Catalonians have been tracking a few Serie A stars in recent years, but it hasn’t really led to any deals in the end.
