Juventus are set to hold talks with Jorge Mendes about Bernardo Silva, a Benfica academy product, as the club explores a summer move. According to Glorioso 1904, Italian reports say the Turin side want to close a deal for the out-of-contract midfielder.
The Bianconeri intend to bring Silva in for next season, though the Portugal international wants Champions League football. Juventus sit third in Serie A with two matches left, which would meet that demand.
Should they clinch a Champions League place, Juventus would be in position to finance the move. The club is prepared to offer a net salary in the region of eight to nine million euros.
Talks with Mendes are expected in the coming weeks as Juventus seek to persuade the 31-year-old. After nine seasons at Manchester City, where he won multiple Premier League and domestic cups plus a Champions League, Silva is weighing his next step.
Damien Comolli, Juventus general director, is due to meet the agent to sell the project. Head coach Luciano Spalletti is said to approve the signing, while Galatasaray are also considering a move.
