Kaizer Chiefs have been dealt with a major blow ahead of their opening group stage match of the CAF Confederation Cup against Al Masry SC at the New Suez Stadium on Sunday.
Amakhosi are in Group D alongside Zesco United of Zambia and two-time Confed Cup champions Zamalek SC, in addition to Al Masry, who were knocked out in the quarterfinal last season.
The Glamour Boys beat Angolan side Kabuscorp SCP in the first qualification round, before booking their group stage spot at the expense of AS Simba of DR Congo in the second preliminary round.
Chiefs will be boosted by the availability of long-term absentee Given Msimango, who travelled with the squad, while Paseka Mako is also in contention after returning from injury.
However, co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef will be without the services of playmaker Gaston Sirino, who is suspended after receiving three yellow cards during the qualifying rounds.
Moreover, Congolese forward Glody Lilepo is not part of the team due to injury, along with Khanyisa Mayo, who didn't pass a late fitness test and Aden McCarthy, whose reasons are not clear.
