For twenty minutes, Bayern Munich struggled to break down Werder Bremen's defense. Then, Lennart Karl latched onto the ball, eluded several defenders, and earned a penalty kick.

Harry Kane converted to give Bayern an early lead. Minutes later, Kane struck again, and, despite some threatening chances from Bremen, Bayern came away with a 3-0 win at the Weserstadion.

Bremen got off to a strong start and nearly went ahead only six minutes into the game when Cameron Puertas nearly found an open Felix Agu with a low cross. Agu couldn't quite get to it, and the game stayed scoreless.

Bremen would regret that miss. In the 19th minute, Lennart Karl picked up the ball and danced past several Werder defenders before being tripped up by Senne Lynen. After a VAR check, it was given as a penalty, which Harry Kane converted to put the visitors up 1-0.

Kane was at it again just minutes later. Bayern regained possession after a Bremen goal kick, and Luis Díaz found Kane with space at the edge of the box. The English striker had time to place his shot, perfectly curling it in off the post to double Bayern's lead.

Díaz had a chance to seemingly put the game to bed shortly after. However, Mio Backhaus made a strong save to keep it at 2-0.

Jonas Urbig was subbed on at the half and was immediately called into action as Bremen peppered Bayern’s goal with shots. Marco Grüll was denied by the post, and Urbig saved the following shot to keep Bayern comfortably in front.

Backhaus again came to the rescue in the 63rd minute, denying Gnabry’s shot from close range. Bremen countered on the ensuing corner, and Urbig was forced into a big save.

In the 70th minute, Alphonso Davies, who was subbed on only a minute earlier, slid the ball across the top of the box to Leon Goretzka. Goretzka’s shot was well-placed and just out of reach to make it 3-0 to Bayern and effectively clinch three points for Vincent Kompany’s side.

Jamal Musiala almost added a fourth in the final minutes of the game, but another lunging save from Backhaus denied the attacking midfielder.

The win takes Bayern to 57 points and gives them a six-point cushion over Borussia Dortmund, who had closed the gap to three points after Friday's win over Mainz. Bremen stay in 15th and trail Wolfsburg on goal difference.

Bayern host Eintracht Frankfurt next Saturday, while Bremen face St. Pauli in a crucial match in the relegation battle next Sunday.
