Harry Kane will sit out Bayern Munich’s Bundesliga match against Borussia Mönchengladbach after taking a calf knock. Vincent Kompany remains calm and the issue is currently viewed as minor.
According to Football Italia, Kompany said Kane has not yet recovered, described it as just a knock and indicated he might need another day before being involved. He added they would have liked Kane to feature but such setbacks happen.
Hiroki Ito and Alphonso Davies are also unavailable for tonight’s league fixture.
That timeline suggests the striker should be in contention for next week’s Champions League meeting with Atalanta. Bayern visit the Serie A side in the Round of 16 first leg on Tuesday, March 10, with the return at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday, March 18.
Kane, 32, is the club’s leading scorer this season with 45 goals in 37 matches. That is more than double the combined tally of Atalanta forwards Gianluca Scamacca, on 10, and Nikola Krstovic, on eight.
